Meet Our Team

Alex – Founder & Director

Alex grew up in the small village of Ferryside, just outside Carmarthen in southwest Wales. After spending several years in Cardiff, he moved to Liverpool over a decade ago — a city that has since become home both personally and professionally.
From a young age, sport played a central role in his life. He attended a rugby-focused college to complete his A-levels, studying Business, Physiology, and Physical Education while competing at a high level. His rugby career included playing for Wales Under 16s, county teams, Elite academies up to Under 21 level, and later representing Welsh Universities, Welsh Academical’s, and the Welsh Crawshays Touring Team. Through these teams, he travelled internationally, including tours to South Africa, Italy and Portugal.
Alongside rugby, he also competed in athletics, specialising as a sprinter and representing Wales at under-16s at the British Championships. At 16, he made the decision to focus solely on rugby — a choice that shaped his sporting identity for years to come.
Academically, he went on to study Sports Science at University of Wales Institute Cardiff, graduating with a BSc. After university, he worked in gyms across Cardiff and Bath, qualifying as a Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. During this time, he developed a strong interest in corrective exercise, injury rehabilitation, and long-term physical performance, eventually setting up his own personal training business.

Despite success in the fitness industry, he felt there was more he could offer. Having experienced injuries throughout his sporting career and worked closely with physiotherapists and sports therapists, he began exploring further training. While researching physiotherapy, he discovered chiropractic — a profession he had little prior exposure to. After shadowing chiropractors in practice, he immediately recognised it as the career that aligned with his values and long-term vision for healthcare.
He returned to university to complete a four-year Master’s degree in Chiropractic at the University of South Wales (formerly the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic). From the moment he began the course, he knew he had found the right path.
After graduating, he spent time travelling before accepting a role in Liverpool — a move guided largely by instinct, and one that would ultimately define the next phase of his life. After gaining experience locally, he opened his first clinic by renting a single room within a GP surgery. From
there, the practice expanded rapidly, eventually operating across three locations before consolidating into a single large, multidisciplinary clinic in South Liverpool.
What began as a solo practice has now grown into a team of over 14 clinicians and staff, offering a comprehensive range of services including chiropractic care, sports therapy, shockwave therapy, rehabilitation, traction-based therapies, acupuncture, and performance-focused treatment spaces. Today, Alex focuses primarily on leading the business rather than treating patients, supporting the team and shaping the clinic’s long-term vision.
Alongside clinical practice, he has been heavily involved in sports chiropractic at an elite level, working internationally with athletics, football, mixed martial arts, and strength sports. His experience includes supporting athletes at the Commonwealth Games, World Athletics
Championships, British Masters Athletics, and international events across Europe, Australia, and Central Asia — including a memorable trip to Turkmenistan for a The Mixed Martial Arts World Championships.
Outside of work, Alex is a husband and father to three young children. Family always comes first, followed closely by his responsibilities to the team and his own health and wellbeing. A former rugby player, he now trains most days through running, cycling, swimming, weight training, competing in triathlon — having completed Ironman-distance events and currently training for further endurance challenges.
When he needs time to reset, you’ll usually find him walking his dog along the beach — a place he’s always gravitated toward for clarity and calm. He has travelled extensively, with highlights including Central America, Australia, the Caribbean, Iceland, and Europe. One of his favourite places remains the islands off Panama, where he spent time after university. His bucket list continues to focus on new experiences — from diving and skiing to any challenge that pushes him outside his comfort zone.
Colleagues often describe him as driven, proactive, and relentlessly focused on improvement — sometimes to a fault — with high standards around timekeeping, structure, and growth. He is deeply proud of building a clinic that supports both patients and practitioners, and of making the transition from clinician to leader while staying true to his values.

Phoebe – Chiropractor

Originally from Bristol, Phoebe studied at the University of South Wales, where she completed a five-year Master’s degree in Chiropractic. Her journey into healthcare wasn’t straightforward, but it’s one she’s incredibly proud of.
At 15, while competing in 100m hurdles, Phoebe suffered a significant knee injury and was introduced to chiropractic care for the first time. After shadowing a local chiropractor during her recovery, she discovered a profession that perfectly combined her passion for sport, movement, and helping people feel their best. What began as an interest in physiotherapy soon became a clear calling toward chiropractic care.
After not achieving the GCSE results she had hoped for, Phoebe took an alternative route — completing a Level 3 Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science at college, where she achieved Triple Distinction*. This success led her to university, where she thrived academically and went on to earn her Master’s degree in Chiropractic. Along the way, she received awards for her academic achievements and dedication, something she remains extremely proud of.

In addition to chiropractic care, Phoebe holds qualifications in acupuncture and dry needling, as well as a Level 3 qualification in massage therapy. She takes a holistic, patient-focused approach, aiming not just to treat pain, but to support long-term health and movement.
Outside of the clinic, Phoebe enjoys staying active at the gym, exploring new restaurants, and experimenting in the kitchen — she’s a self-confessed foodie. She has a love for adrenaline-fueled experiences, from theme parks and roller coasters to surfing and ice skating, and is always up for trying something new. When it’s time to unwind, you’ll likely find her at the beach or out walking in scenic, peaceful surroundings.
Colleagues often describe Phoebe as bubbly and friendly, and she prides herself on creating a welcoming, relaxed environment for every patient she treats.

Joe Balmer – Chiropractor

Born and raised in Liverpool, Joe completed his chiropractic training at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in Bournemouth, where he studied for five years and graduated with a Master’s degree in Chiropractic. Moving away from home to study by the coast was a deliberate choice, giving him valuable life experience as well as a strong clinical education.
His interest in chiropractic began through family experience, after seeing the positive impact it had on his mum’s lower back pain. From there, he spent time researching the profession, watching educational content, and gaining hands-on exposure through regular shadowing placements during his studies — returning home each year to build real-world experience alongside qualified practitioners.
Before university, Joe studied at Life Sciences UTC in Liverpool, focusing on biology, chemistry, and sociology, which gave him a solid scientific foundation before progressing straight into chiropractic training.

Clinically, Joe enjoys working with people who want to take an active role in their health and make long-term changes. More recently, he has developed a particular interest in supporting younger patients and families, helping children build good health habits early — a perspective influenced by becoming a parent himself.
In addition to chiropractic care, Joe is certified in Shockwave Therapy, which he uses as part of a wider, evidence-based approach to managing pain and supporting recovery.
Outside of the clinic, Joe leads a very active lifestyle. He is a keen runner and is currently training for the Rome Marathon, alongside several local races including a half marathon and 10K events. Running, along with regular gym training, plays a big role in helping him stay focused and grounded. When he’s not training, you’ll often find him out walking his Cockapoo, Teddy, enjoying some quiet time outdoors.
A lifelong Liverpool supporter, Joe can happily talk football for hours. Colleagues describe him as punctual, committed, and reliable, and he takes great pride in his role both as a clinician and as a dad.

Ben – Chiropractor

Ben grew up in Salford, Manchester, before beginning his academic journey in sport and healthcare. After completing secondary school in Warrington, he went on to study a BTEC in Sport at college, graduating with Triple Distinction* — a clear reflection of both his work ethic and long-standing interest in physical performance.
He continued his education at university, completing a five-year Master’s degree in Chiropractic. Alongside his degree, Ben also holds a Level 1 Gym Instructor qualification and a Diploma in Chiropractic, further supporting his hands-on, movement-focused approach to care.
Ben’s interest in chiropractic began early. As a teenager, he experienced ongoing back pain and sought treatment himself, where he first saw the benefits of hands-on manual therapy. That experience, combined with a strong sporting background, helped shape his decision to pursue chiropractic as a career.

Growing up, Ben played a wide range of sports including football, rugby, MMA, and skiing — and even held a school high jump record at age 16. While competitive sport has taken a back seat, he now trains regularly in the gym around four times per week, combining strength training with cardio to stay active and healthy. Outside of work, Ben enjoys keeping things simple. He likes paddle sports, golf, hiking, and relaxing at home — usually unwinding with a good TV series after a busy day. When it comes to travel, his favourite experiences include skiing trips and time spent in Barbados, with future plans to explore Southeast Asia and Australia. Colleagues often describe Ben as funny (even if occasionally annoying, depending who you ask), and he takes pride in continuously developing his chiropractic skills to provide straightforward, effective care for his patients. Fun facts: • Former school high jump record holder • Gym regular (four times per week) • Favourite film: Inception • Favourite TV show: Game of Thrones • Country music fan (Morgan Wallen, Zach Bryan) • Steak lover • Current go-to takeaway: Nando’s • Night owl with a coffee habit

Sashlyn – Chiropractor

Sashlyn grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, before making the move to the UK three years ago. Relocating at 25 was a big step, but one she’s incredibly proud of — driven by a long-standing desire to travel, experience life abroad, and grow both personally and professionally.
She studied at the University of Johannesburg, completing a six-year Master’s degree in Chiropractic. In South Africa, students progress directly from high school into university, allowing Sashllyn to fully immerse herself in her training from an early stage.
Sashlyn’s path into chiropractic was shaped by a strong desire to help people live healthier, more fulfilled lives. Initially considering physiotherapy, she quickly realised it wasn’t the right fit after spending time shadowing in practice. Having grown up with chiropractic care and seeing its impact first-hand, she knew it aligned far more closely with her values and vision of healthcare.

She has a particular passion for pregnancy and paediatric care, and is registered with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She is also qualified in the Webster Technique, supporting pregnant patients throughout their journey. In addition, Sashlyn holds certifications in shockwave therapy, dry needling, taping, and has completed multiple postgraduate professional development courses.
Outside of the clinic, Sashlyn enjoys travelling, spending time with friends, discovering new coffee spots, and watching sports. You’ll often find her exploring independent cafés — with Crosby Coffee being a firm favourite — or unwinding in a bookshop with a good coffee and a great novel. Her favourite book is To Kill a Mockingbird, though she’ll happily admit to having a soft spot for romance novels too.
Colleagues describe Sashlyn as funny and very much the “glue” of the clinic — someone who brings people together and keeps the team connected.

Joe Cresdee – Chiropractor

Joe grew up in a village just outside Southampton before moving north to Liverpool. He completed his secondary education locally and went on to college in Winchester, where he studied Psychology, Biology, and Physical Education at A-level — developing an early interest in health, movement, and how the body works.
Joe trained as a chiropractor at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, completing a five year Master’s degree in Chiropractic.
His interest in chiropractic started at a young age. Joe’s family regularly visited a local chiropractor after seeing great results when his brother was treated as a baby. As a result, chiropractic care became the go-to solution for aches, pains, and injuries in his household, sparking Joe’s curiosity and shaping his career choice early on.

Alongside chiropractic, Joe has a strong interest in nutrition and lifestyle health, particularly how diet, hydration, vitamins, minerals, and metabolism can influence pain, recovery, stress, and long term wellbeing. He enjoys exploring how these factors can sometimes be the missing link when patients aren’t progressing as expected.
Joe is a passionate sports enthusiast, with football at the heart of his interests. A lifelong Portsmouth supporter, he has played football since the age of four and continues to play 11-a-side. He also enjoys tennis, which he plays a couple of times a week, as well as golf, running, and gym training.
Outside of work, Joe enjoys staying active, socialising with friends (many of whom he’s met through sport), and travelling whenever he can. He loves active holidays and exploring new places, whether that’s hiking, skiing, or beach-based adventures. His favourite place he’s ever visited is Mexico, where highlights included day trips, beautiful beaches, and swimming with whale sharks.
When he needs to switch off and decompress, you’ll likely find Joe playing tennis or walking in nature, both of which he finds grounding and restorative.

She completed a three-year BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation at Liverpool Hope University, graduating with a strong academic foundation in injury assessment, rehabilitation, and performance-based care.
Her interest in sports rehabilitation was shaped by a lifelong involvement in sport. Beth trained in Taekwondo for over 10 years, competing at a national level and representing England between the ages of 13 and 18. Alongside Taekwondo, she also took part in netball and rowing, giving her a broad understanding of the physical demands placed on the body across different sports.
Beth also completed A-level Psychology alongside a sports diploma at college, achieving excellent results, which helped shape her understanding of both the physical and psychological aspects of recovery and performance.
In addition to her degree, Beth holds:
• Level 3 Sports Massage Therapy qualification
• Shockwave Therapy certification
• Level 2 Trauma qualification
• Full First Aid and CPR certification

She takes a practical, supportive, and patient-centred approach to rehabilitation, aiming to help people return to activity with confidence while reducing the risk of future injury.
Outside of work, Beth enjoys going to the gym, attending weekly fitness classes, and staying active. She loves socialising with friends, travelling, and unwinding with a good coffee — often paired with a pastry — followed by a walk to reset after a busy day. Her favourite place she’s ever visited is China, where she travelled to Beijing, Xi’an, and Shanghai on a school trip.
